This video demonstrates how to adjust a walk-in cooler swing door closer strike.

You will need a Phillips head screwdriver for this adjustment.

First, open the door and verify that the roller ball remains in the upright position after the door opens.

If the roller ball remains upright after opening, then loosen the four screws holding the strike so that the strike is easily moved.

Once the screws are loosened, reposition the strike to the lowest point allowed and retighten the screws.

When the screws are tightened, push the roller ball down by hand and test the door closing a few times to ensure it operates properly.

To adjust, remove, or replace the door closer, see our video on door closer replacement.

If the door strike requires further movement
– Remove the screws from the door closer strike.
– Reposition the door closer strike as required.
– Mark the holes for the new position.
– Drill 1/8” holes using the new marks.
– Reinstall the door closer strike in the new holes using #8 screws and test for proper operation as demonstrated earlier.
