This was an emergency call for a supermarket rack low on refrigerant. Found out a condenser fan motor bracket broke off and punctured the condenser coil. Repaired 6 copper tubes. Lost a total of 1100 lbs of R449A. Successful repair by yours truly.

    Over half a ton of refrigerant! How much did that stuff cost?

    You would think such a big customer could afford to just replace the whole unit rather than repair a trashed condenser.

    I hate when that happens. Last time I did one I got to the store at 5 pm and didn’t leave until midnight. Those stamped brackets are fairly notorious for breaking like that. Side note, why are the fans going in reverse?
