New York, NY (April 11, 2014) — The Realty Advisory Board on Labor Relations (RAB) today announced that it has reached a tentative labor agreement with SEIU Local 32BJ, the union representing residential building service workers in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island.
The current contract was scheduled to expire at midnight on April 20, 2014. While the 32BJ membership still needs to ratify the contract, the threatened strike of the residential union members has been called off.
At the BuidlngsNY Trade Show on March 20th at the Javits Center , NYARM, The New York Association of Realty Managers conducted a seminar preparing property managers in case there was a strike.
Even with no threated strike, this seminar is excellent to watch as you will understand much of the background preparation that went into the negotiations. This video is moderated by Margie Russell, Executive Director of NYARM .
