As of January 2020 over here, England , we’re not allowed to charge virgin 404a! Being phased out… I work on big crop storage chillers and we have a lot of 70kg+ systems that have been retro fitted from R22, to 404a and now will have to be changed to 448a. As 448a can be used with mineral oil… The systems never perform as well once retrofitted. They seem to lose capacity

So my guess is it wouldn't cool and the customer cranked the temp control down. Except they cranked it up.

They don't understand turning the temp down doesn't make it colder.

Great vid. I wouldn't expect any less from you my dude.

Hey what’s up Chris. I’ve been binge watching your videos. Keep em coming. I was wondering if you could do a video on what you think the best drop in replacement for R-22 is in terms of similar pressures and superheat and if you have to flush the system or if you can just add replacement with no worries. Thanks.

I use regular 15% silver solder and flux on the brass shower head/distributor. Anytime you braze one leak go ahead and braze all of them in 1 shot. Usually the heat from the torch weekens the next tubing next to it.
    Nice repair

My name is Diego and I'm from Boston as well. I am very interested in HVAC. I don't have any experience but I am willing to learn and go through trial and error to become a tech. I understand it can be difficult but I'm willing to take the challenge but I just need somewhere to start to be able to learn the ropes. If there's any more tips that you can give me please contact me!

I've never welded a distributer tube for the reasons you mentioned. Wish you would have showed some of your brazing skills on this type of repair. I like your videos!
Stop smoking. Those things killed my Dad and all my Aunts and Uncles.
